OLand Speeder Storm
I took a regular land speeder I bough on Ebay, chopped it in half, and built this monster. The sides are fully hinged as you can see. That wasn't easy. I love the idea of a land speeder transport that is open topped. Yes, five scouts isn't exactly a killer assault...but I have two. If they both fly forward and assault together, that could be a lot of death! The speeders need multi-meltas though, since I don't have a lot of anti-vehicle. Maybe I should go with melta-bombs for my sgts.
Anyway, five of my scouts have shotguns, the other five close combat weapons and pistols. If I can get them both into combat with an enemy unit that is shooty, I will be very happy. Speeders move 12 inches, and I can assault out of them, so first turn assaults are not completely out of the question. If I don't think I can reach, then I will use the scout rule and move to hide. If these guys can keep a unit from firing at my assault guys for one turn, I will really be happy.
Now...do I magnetize my scouts feet so they can ride the speeders and then be moved to regular bases? That is a lot of work...Okay, so I magnetized their feet and bases so they can now ride the landspeeder and be dismounted when needed.
